WIP-Documenting the Filipino Community of the Lowcountry

Hey guys! It is now the second week of my second year in the MFA program at SCAD. I’ve been enjoying my time here in Savannah and over the summer I’ve gotten really close to several members of the Filipino community here-there is a much larger population compared to where I grew up in Kentucky. I’m letting these experiences guide my practice and have turned my lens to the new friends that I have made in an effort to educate the general public on aspects of Filipino culture and explore my own background. Here are some images from my first couple rolls, photographed on Portra 400 with a Mamiya 645 super (Sekor c 55mm 2.8n). Enjoy!
