Arteries is a body of work commemorating the life-giving tidal waters of the Georgia and South Carolina low country, which carving out complex networks as they snake toward the coastline. Entire ecosystems rely on the tidal cycle, from the smallest microbes to the human communities which have settled alongside these tributaries for thousands of years. As we teeter on the precipice of a climate crisis, these waterways and the organisms that depend on it face catastrophe. These images exist as platinum palladium prints, a historic process known as the most archival photographic printmaking technique. With the very biomes being photographed under duress, these images stand a chance at existing for a time period far beyond the fragile landscapes they are representative of.
